Horizontal pressure vessels (to be built on compressor)

The horizontal pressure vessel (to be built on compressor) is a very important part of the compressed air system. This type of vessel performs several important functions. Here are their main tasks:

  • Air storage - The compressor vessel stores compressed air, allowing it to be used at different times when the compressor is not working. This allows for maintaining a constant pressure in the system.
  • Increased efficiency - The vessel allows the compressor to operate in a cyclic mode, which reduces its load and energy consumption. The compressor can operate in a cyclic mode, generating air and then storing it in the vessel until it is needed.
  • Pulsation reduction - The vessel acts as a buffer that smooths out pressure pulsations caused by the cyclic operation of the compressor, which can improve the performance of pneumatic devices connected to the system.
  • System protection - Helps to separate condensate (water) from the compressed air, which can improve air quality and protect devices from damage.

Depending on your needs, vessels can have different capacities and can be made from different materials, such as steel, stainless steel, polyamide or aluminum. They can also have different shapes, such as cylindrical, spherical or ball, although compressor vessels are most often cylindrical in shape, closed on both sides with an ellipsoidal heads. The selection of the suitable vessel depends on the compressor specification, operating parameters and application requirements.

Vessels for compressors have many applications - mainly in industry. Here are some of them:

  • Industrial compressed air lines: Vessels store compressed air, which allows for stable pressure and allows pneumatic tools to work.
  • Workshops and crafts: Used in workshops to power pneumatic tools such as screwdrivers, grinders or paint sprayers.
  • Construction industry: Used in construction machines, where compressed air is needed to drive tools.
  • Medicine and laboratories: In compressed air supply systems for medical equipment. For example, every hospital is equipped with a compressed air and oxygen system that requires storage.
  • Production and packaging: In production processes for packaging, transport and processing of materials.
  • Air conditioning and ventilation systems: In some HVAC systems, to distribute air.
